We all want to live lives that feel authentic to us. Yet in such a massive culture, our canvas was for a long time largely cookie-cutter. Enter the internet. It is opening the entire world, from Australia to Zimbabwe. Users find all the information they could possibly want about virtually any subject, from crocheting to Chattanooga to communicable diseases. This sea of offerings online present new ideas and choices, which in turn reveal new aspects of ourselves--many of which we would not have ever considered without internet access.
Today, we are hungry to find a true sense of self that is both completely unique and "at home" in this ever-expanding world. As we balance love, family, work, leisure, sport, health, community service, faith, and more, Facebook often becomes a personal oasis. It offers a creative platform for finding our Be Who You Are "true north" at our own pace. We can select from a vast array of tools to both discover and distinguish ourselves. With thought and intention, we are able to create a genuine voice for the world to hear, and then turn to hear ourselves in a new way. We truly have an online "room of one's own."
For the past year, I have been "seriously playing" with Facebook as a tool for my own personal self-discovery and expression, as well as a way to connect with those who read my work or watch my videos. I invite those who enjoy connecting to join me on Facebook. Simply invite me to be your friend at: http://www.Facebook.com/RobinRice. You'll get daily quotes, notes, thoughts, videos, and website links that are "upfull" messages to help you on YOUR authentic journey. Or, if you want to join me as I kick off my "Robin Rice's Be Who You Are" Fan Page, you'll get special extras not on my personal page. Just sign up using the link on this page.
I hope to see you on Facebook!
